Maltego 2.0.2 Released - Local Transforms!

January 9th, 2009 Posted in Maltego

Hi All,

It is with great pleasure that we announce the latest version of Maltego, 2.0.2 – even bigger and better than before!

Finally, the request everyone has been waiting for, transforms that are executed locally and not on the server. These allow for custom transforms to be written that integrate with Maltego though a simple interface with the ability to code in practically any language. Sample libraries and a few custom transforms are available on the forums (http://www.paterva.com/forum/ ) under the “Development” section.

We also have the specification for local transforms available on the wiki (http://ctas.paterva.com/view/Specification ) as well as in PDF version (http://www.paterva.com/docs/localTransforms-SpecIII.pdf ).

Download links for 2.0.2:
Windows - http://www.paterva.com/malv2/MaltegoInstaller-v202.exe
Linux - http://www.paterva.com/malv2/MaltegoInstaller-v202.jar

As with the other releases, the CE version will be arriving later this year, hopefully the Mac edition’s of these as well.

The interface for creating local transforms within the GUI is not completely finished, but this release should be ample to allow you to get your feet wet with local transforms.

With this new release we have also included the Pen Testing entities for use with your own local transforms.

Have fun, and we look forward to awesome new transforms :)
Enjoy,
Andrew MacPherson
