Hello all,

Good news for Mac users! I have packaged an unofficial release of Maltego CE 2.0.2 for Mac OS/X. You can download it at:

http://www.mediafire.com/file/ftwnmmzmyzh/MaltegoInstaller-v202.pkg.zip

This version of Maltego has been repackaged to work just like any other Mac app. Just fire up Spotlight, type "Maltego", and you''ll see your favorite app appear, which you can launch directly from there! Or double-click on the Mac app in your Applications folder.

Important:
Apparently some users have attempted to run Maltego on Mac clones. Java 1.6 for Mac will only run on machines that support 64-bit instructions. Therefore you will not be able to run maltego on 32-bit processors.

Enjoy,

Nadeem

Actually the install didn''t work for me from scratch because the Transforms would be empty when i launched Maltego from the Applications folder.

I had to open shell / terminal and type:
cd /Applications/MaltegoCE.app/Contents/Resources/MaltegoCE
./bin/maltego

to make it work...

Hi Philpraxis

What version of Mac OS X are you using? It sounds like the launcher is not finding maltego''''s base directory. Open the bin/maltego script and add the following on the second line:

set > ~/Desktop/log

Double click the icon and the output of the bash variables will appear on your desktop. If you could please post or send that output that would be of great help in solving your problem.

Hi I downloaded Maltego CE for OSX on 10.30.08. I run Leopard 10.5.5 on a macbook core2 duo. Thanks for creating such a great program and now I dont need to be in BT3 to use it!  Id like to thank Philpraxis for posting the fact that even if u follow the install instructions to the T, you wont have any transforms if u just dbl click the unix executable.  You must cd /Applications/Maltego/bin   once there do just like Philpraxis says ./maltego and it will launch and have the transforms available.  Thanks for saving me some headache!

Hey shockwave,

Could you please perform the debugging steps I suggested for philpraxis above. I really would like to resolve this problem for the Mac users who are experiencing this problem. Your help would be kindly appreciated.

Thanks,

Nadeem

Ill reply to my old message just in case anyone else has the no transform problem. The RC1 download posted at the top of this thread works fine for me and all the transforms are available right from the start, no need to do anything unsual.

Sorry to double post but, the download requires a UN and PWD.  Can you lend a fellow Mac user a hand and shed some light on this please?
