Hello,
I dont know yet what search enignes Maltego does query, but I could imagine some specialised search engies could provide addtional informations.
Does Maltego Server provide the possiblity to inegrate additional search engines out of the box?
Thank's a lot!

Hi Bill,
Maltego does provide some integration with additional search engines, if you look into the transform properties ( tools->manage transforms ), of the specific transform you will be able to change this via the 'Search Engine' property.

Hi Bill,
Yes, the transforms currently do not support multiple search engine types, but heres a way around it:
Within the transform manager, select the search engine transform you wish to change, clone it with the clone transform button and then simply rename it. You now have two transforms that do the same task so that you can change the one to another search engine and you can now use both against a specific entity.
Hope that makes sense

And could you please explain how to do that in Maltego3 ? As I can see currently it is not possible to clone existing transform. Also, when using Transform Manager what to do with "copied" transform ?! (paste or silimar action is not possible). Please explain.

Cloning of transforms are not possible in V3. However, you can set a transform field to be a pop-up (check the checkbox next to it) and it will ask you to supply the transform setting every time you run the transform. This might negate the need for cloning of transforms. We'll consider bringing cloning back in V3.0.1

Roelof.

OK, it works but it is really a workaround. Also, checking the "Remember these settings" checkbox on popup does nothing so I always have to enter "google" (or whatever) instead of default "yahoo". Am I doing something wrong ?
